This tour will take you not only to Simatai Great Wall but also to Gubei Water Town where surrounds the beautiful Mandarin Duck Lake Reservoir and leans against the Simatai Great Wall. Both attractions are situated in Gubei Town of Miyun District in Beijing (120 km north of Beijing).
Description
Simatai Great Wall is separated by a valley into eastern and western parts. The western part is gently sloped with 20 well-preserved watchtowers dotting along the wall. The eastern part is much steeper, following more rugged terrain that includes cliff edges and kilometre-high peaks.

First, Tourists free to browse in the water town of Gubei (around 2 hours). And then walk to Simatai Great Wall, take the cable car to the top of the Great Wall. Simatai Great Wall is located about 130 km from downtown Beijing. The Simatai Great Wall was first constructed built in the Ming Dynasty. The famous general, Xu Da, of the early Ming Dynasty supervised and directed the construction of the Great Wall. Later, Qi Jiguang led a number of defense works while guarding the north area in 1567. The trip hike is about 6.5km and takes about 3.5 hours. Each tower has its unique feature and look. There are relatively less crowded here at Simatai Great Wall it is a nice place to explore the Great Wall in Beijing. In the afternoon, transferred back to your downtown hotel in Beijing. |
