Mutianyu is a section of the Great Wall of China located in Huairou County 70 km northeast of central Beijing. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is connected with Jiankou in the west and Lianhuachi in the east. As one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall, the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs.

This section of the Great Wall is about 75km from the center of Beijing. The Mutianyu Great Wall was constructed built based on the relics of Beiqi Great Wall by the famous general, Xu Da, who is under Zhu Yuanzhang in 1368. Arrive Mutianyu Great Wall around 9:30am. The round trip hike is about 4km and takes about 3 hours. As one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall, Mutianyu section of Great Wall used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs. It’s known for its beautiful surroundings – dense woods and rich pastures changing colors with the seasons of a year. The hiking tour finished around 13:30pm, then go for lunch, after lunch, transferred back to downtown hotel in Beijing. |

You will be pick up by your tour guide in the early morning (between 7:00am to 7:30am), and hop-on coach bus for this fun day trip. About 9:30am, and head to Mutianyu Great Wall directly. You will arrive the Great Wall around 9:30am, then you can spend about 3 hours wandering around Mutianyu Great Wall. You can choose to take the chair lift up and toboggan ride down (at your own cost). It is very exciting to take the toboggan ride back! During lunch break, you will enjoy a local lunch at a restaurant near by Great Wall. After your tour is finished, you will be transferred to your accommodations around 4:30pm.
